Anthony Agtarap

Anthony is a father, husband, strength and conditioning coach, physical educator, and former professional engineer. As the founder of Engineered Bodies Strength & Conditioning, he serves as the operations and programs manager and head coach of the Engineered Bodies Youth Development Program. With over 15 years of coaching experience in strength & conditioning, weightlifting, and physical education, he’s helped clients of all ages and training backgrounds to realize their goals and reach their full potential.

Committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the community, Anthony founded the Engineered Bodies Continuing Education Fund for Social Justice through the Coquitlam Foundation. He served as a Board Member of the BC Weightlifting Association (BCWA) for three, two year terms, working to advocate for ViaSport accreditation, grassroots youth development initiatives, transparent governance best practices, and inclusivity initiatives. He is currently serving on the coach development committee on the Canadian Functional Fitness Federation. 

Anthony is currently pursuing the Masters of High-Performance Coaching & Technical Leadership (MHPCTL) program through UBC’s Kinesiology Department and has been mentored by the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (ISPARC). He draws from these programs, along with his experience, to develop and implement a holistic approach to Engineered Bodies programs to transform physical education into a more inclusive, accessible, and life-long experience for all.
