Territorial Acknowledgment & Call for Decolonization

We would like to acknowledge that our training facility is located on the ancestral and unceded territory of the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), qʼʷa:n̓ ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), qiqéyt (Qayqayt), and Stó:lō (Sto:lo) and other First Nations who have been stewards and protectors of this land and water ways since time immemorial.

As settlers, we acknowledge benefiting from colonial systems designed to displace and erase Indigenous Peoples through genocidal policies that persist today in forms like disproportionate incarceration, the foster care system, the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, and environmental destruction. We recognize these patterns of settler-colonial violence extend globally, from occupied Palestine to Indigenous territories worldwide, where land seizure serves capitalist expansion.

Within our physical health education and coaching work, we commit to decolonization by centering Indigenous sovereignty, challenging oppressive systems, supporting land back, right to self-determination, and anti-apartheid movements, and practicing active allyship through ongoing education and concrete action.

We formalized our Diversity and Inclusion Policy. You can read it here.
